To handle traffic management we have special forces that are our traffic police force. They are helping us in safely moving on roads. They are performing their duty 24*7 to help us to reach on time and safe. But the question here arises is are we performing our duty? Are we helping back to them to maintain law and order? Though most of us do. They wear helmet while ridding bikes. they wear seat belt while driving cars. If we think from heart we come to know that the efforts by us not to obey the rules but to avoid the capital punishment. But whatever the reason be we obey some rules at least. But what happened to other rules such as following lane system, stopping before the white line on the traffic lights or we are crossing that lines and do not let the people on foot to cross the roads.
Everybody says that they obey the rules. Let assume that it is true as all are saying the same thing. Also all of us knows that the traffic jams and similar situations including the worst accident having loss of life, happens due to violation of traffic rules. If we all are obeying the rules then why these mischievous activities take place? Why loss of life is there?
We have to admit that we are in fault somewhere. If we try to admit this most of our traffic problem are solved. We never face the problem of traffic jams. We reach our destination safely.
I have a live example, yesterday when I was coming home from city then at Niwaru Underpass, there was traffic jam, a policeman was there who was struggling to open that jam. But as he was alone and the road cross are more so he was unable to manage the traffic. But he was struggling and performing his duty. Actually he was giving his 300% to maintain the traffic flow. But I feel shame that people among us were not obeying him. So the jam happened. In jam all kind of people are there, to whom we show sympathy and respect, but where was our respect and sympathy when we were doing that stupid act not following the traffic rules and resulted that jam. I listen people were blaming that wonderful policeman for that jam. Was that right or wrong it was different. But at least we have to help him to maintain the things there. Was that not our responsibilities to act smartly and reach home safe and on time? Then why only he was struggling we were watching him doing so. I had been standing there for last 30 minutes. Then I decided to help the great man (actually I was helping myself as I was also getting late in reaching home) who was struggling to maintain the road discipline. I pushed my bike near by dairy booth and requested the vendor to take care of that. He asked me the reason I just say that my believes don't let me here and watch. Then I moved to him and asked whether I help him. Believe me I saw real enthusiasm of duty in his eyes. Then we both started the work. Though I had difficulties at first but I want to help. After watching my act two more person came and help the great man. Actually they were not helping him but they were helping themselves to reach home at time. And after a small effort of approx twenty minutes, yes the effort made by the three people other than the policeman was small as we performed for our shake and time only. But the man there was struggling for hours.
If the people there had followed the rules than that situation was not supposed to rise. It is easy to blame the administration for the lacking but what are we doing? Are we obeying the rules that are made for our shake? Are we right at every aspect of humanity? We have to think over this. We have to wake up our morals that our ancestors given us. We have to know our duties and follow them honestly.
